ANSWER: Windent Platinum has been in development for the past 4 years. It
is new, and the most exciting program we have ever released! You will not be a
test user. The product has been in beta testing for more than a year and it is
fully functional.

Is Windent Platinum the same system as the Windent SQL program?

ANSWER: Windent Platinum is serviced by a completely separate group
within Windent. The Windent Platinum group operates as an entirely web-based
business unit, independent from the services provided for the existing Windent
systems.

What is MS SQL Server Express?
Top
ANSWER: Microsoft offers two versions of its flagship relational
database manager. One is offered free of charge and one requires proper licensing fees.
The free version of MS SQL Server has a physical limitation of 4 GB of patient
information. This translates to 20 years of data for a typical single
provider office. Windent Platinum is designed to run under both relational
database managers from Microsoft. You can upgrade to the full version of the
Microsoft flagship product at any time without any changes to your Windent
Platinum software.

Why did you pick MS SQL instead of another database?

ANSWER: MS SQL was chosen over other databases for its robust features
and capabilities as well as its ability to grow with your practice as needed. MS
SQL is also a very widely used database manager across many industries. Getting
IT assistance for MS SQL is much easier for our customers.

What payment methods do you accept for additional services?

ANSWER: We accept company checks, Visa, MasterCard,
American Express, and electronic check.

Can I file electronic claims with Windent Platinum?

ANSWER: Windent Platinum comes with the standard ADA and HCFA forms to send paper
claims. However, you can submit electronic claims (dental, medical, and
government) via Emdeon. The cost information is below:

Dental Enrollment - $75.00 per Tax ID Number submitting under

Medical Enrollment - $75.00 per Tax ID Number submitting under

Government Enrollment - $125.00 per Tax ID Number submitting under
Government enrollment is necessary when filing claims to BlueCross BlueShield,
United Concordia, Tri-Care, Medicare, Medicaid, Railroad Insurance, and insurance for Federal employees.

What is the cost for sending electronic claims?

ANSWER: Dental Claims will be billed at the rate of $.58 per claim and
Medical Claims at $.68 per claim (US).
In Canada, the CDAnet or ITRANS submission is free.

What is the cost for sending electronic patient statements?

ANSWER: Electronic statement services include the paper products
(statement, envelope, and reply envelope), the postage and also the labor to fold,
stuff, stamp and mail the statements. The cost per statement is $.80 and the
average savings on 1000 patient statements sent electronically is $500 per
month.

What is the cost for sending text messages?

ANSWER: Text messaging is available including the
integration to Windent. Each text sent or received from a patient is stored in
their Windent patient record. Please contact the Sales Department for pricing

What are the minimum system requirements?

ANSWER: Windows XP Professional with SP3, Windows Vista Business, Windows 7
Professional operating system, Windows Server 2008, or Windows Server
2003 with a minimum of 4 GB RAM. Server 2008 is recommended for networks.

Is my data freely accessible?

ANSWER: Your data belongs to you and you can access or extract it at
anytime. For the safekeeping of your patient data, we recommend that you encrypt
your data.

What if I choose not to continue using the software?

ANSWER: You can stop using the program at anytime and export your patient
data into another system.

How can I get my patient data out of my existing system
and into Windent Platinum?

ANSWER: Data conversion is offered from many other practice
management software. Systems that we have converted from include:
Eaglesoft, Practiceworks, Dentrix, Softdent, and Easy Dental. Please
contact our sales department if you have another system not listed here.

Is there a specific limit to the amount of data I can enter into the system?

ANSWER: You can store up to 4GB of patient data in the Windent Platinum
program. For the average-size practice, this is the equivalent of about 20 years of
data accumulation! Optionally, you can upgrade your MS SQL Server Express at any
time to the full version of MS SQL Server for an "unlimited" capacity.

based software. We strongly recommend that you contact an internet service
provider (start with your phone company) and begin your internet services.

How much disk space do I need to install your software?

ANSWER: We recommend that each computer running Windent Platinum
has at least 4 Gigs of free disk space. For the server or computer where
your data resides, you should have more disk space available and you need
to have additional space available for backing up your data.

How much system memory (RAM) do I need to run Windent Platinum effectively?

ANSWER: We recommend that each computer running Windent Platinum
has at least 4 Gigs of RAM installed. The minimum RAM required is 3 Gigs.

ANSWER: The software pricing is based on the number of computers needed.
There is no limit and additional licenses can be purchased after initial
purchase.

installation?

ANSWER: Yes, we can assist your IT vendor with the installation. Initial
installation will be handled by our installation technician. We can assist the

no charge and is the database that you need to use.

ANSWER: Deskjet printers are not recommended. You will need a laser
printer that is PCL6 compatible.

What screen resolution is recommended to run Windent Platinum?

ANSWER: We optimized Windent Platinum to run on a 1024x768 resolution.
We do not recommend lower resolutions as it will impact the usability of the
software. Higher resolutions are also supported. This is your personal preference.

Will my restorative and perio charting print in color?

ANSWER: As long as you are printing from a color laser printer,
Windent Platinum restorative charting and perio charting support
color printing.
